CNCPI : status and mission

CNCPI is the French Institute of Patent & Trademark Attorneys

  • Created in 1990
  • Successor to the French Institute of Patent Attorneys
  • Under the authority of the French National Institute of Industrial Property

The Patent and Trademark attorneys are all members of the National Company of the Patent attorneys (CNCPI).
The CNCPI is a legal entity instituted by the law to represent the Patent attorneys French near the governmental authorities.

The Company is the unique professional association representing all 885(*) French Patent and/or Trademark Attorneys (the Profession), the priviliged Interface between the Profession and the Public, a proactive proposals concerning IP matters and a guarantees competence, independence and morality.

  • Represents the Patent and/or Trademark Attorneys Profession
  • Ensures Compliance with the Profession’s ethics and Code of Conduct
  • Defends the Profession’s interests
  • Develops & promotes the Profession and IP in general
