April, 28 & 29th, 2010 - European Patent Forum 2010 - European Inventor Award 2010

We wish to draw your attention to an event in Madrid on 28-29 April 2010 which will bring together many of the leading lights in the world of innovation and renewable energy.

At the invitation of the European Commission and the European Patent Office, European politicians, international scientists and economic experts will gather for the European Patent
Forum 2010 and the European Inventor Award 2010.

European Patent Forum: 28-29 April 2010 / Eurostars Tower Hotel Madrid
This year Europe's foremost innovation and patent conference will look at the availability of renewable energy in Europe. Following the disappointing outcome of the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen and in advance of a decision on a legally binding climate treaty for Europe, top experts will discuss the issues arising. The focus will be on questions like:

  • Does Europe have the technology needed to meet its obligations under such a treaty?
  • Are the necessary structures in place to promote technology transfer?
  • Is the system for protecting innovation (patents) ready to meet these challenges?

• 28 April 2010: European Inventor Award 2010 / Eurostars Tower Hotel Madrid
For the fifth time, the European Patent Office together with the European Commission will present the coveted European Inventor Award in four categories. This prize is awarded for innovations which embody pioneering technical solutions to major problems facing society.
